I'm terrible at hand sewing too, but it doesn't matter with hand basting how well it looks. The importance is in the herring bone or tailors pattern to help keep the layers together. Since my hand stitching is not very pretty, all my binding work is machine done. Looking forward to seeing your finished quilt. The fabrics are very pretty!
Cute title to this post! :) I prefer hand basting and watching tv. I too enjoy modern quilts pieced and quilted with vintage machines. Have fun!
